Embracing Modesty

1Ti 2:9 likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, 1Ti 2:10 but with what is proper for women who profess godliness--with good works.1Ti 2:11 Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness.

1Pe 3:3 Do not let your adorning be external--the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear-- 1Pe 3:4 but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious. 1Pe 3:5 For this is how the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their own husbands,

I think this a very important subject and something that is mostly ignored even in the "christian" community. We are called to be separate from the world.  Does the world know you are a godly biblical woman by how you present yourself? We do have preferences and we like one color over another and I do think we have a certain liberty in Christ, but we must be careful to dress and act in a way that is proper for someone professing Christ and to be very sure that we do not dress in a way that would cause a brother to fall. God has placed this on my heart so much lately, sometimes I find myself wanting to look "cute" but I must ask, who am I looking "cute" for? I also know that we dress for our friends, "oh wait until they see this cute top I just got". Are we mindful of how our "cute top" is perceived by the opposite sex? I think much more important than looking cute or "feeling pretty", is being Godly!

Pro 31:30 Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

Please watch/listen to this sermon about how to dress modestly from a man's perspective and the biblical standard. I actually thought I dressed modestly until I watched this, and I actually changed my wardrobe, this is a serious topic, please take it to heart

Please take this to heart, our daughters are watching us, the world looks to see if we are different. We can still wear nice and feminine clothing, actually we are supposed to look like females. Our bodies are for our husbands and our husbands only! If you are not married you need to preserve yourself for your husband, do not cheapen God's creation by putting yourself on display for others. You are beautiful and your body is sacred and need to be treated as such.

Side note:
I also found this company "Simply Modest Swimwear"  this company makes and sells patterns for swimwear that actually covers you up! This is an area where so many, even Christians, don't pay attention. They dress modest, then they put on a bathing suit and they might as well be naked. Two piece swimsuits are absolutely out of the question, ONLY if you are in a completely private setting with your husband, even one pieces are too revealing, if you can't afford these swimsuits, please cover up with a large t-shirt, we must be mindful of these things, Moms please don't let your daughters wear these little swimsuits, besides being un-modest, there are simply too many perverts out there. We live in a fallen world and must live in a biblcal way and protect ourselves and our daughters.
