Welcome to "A Price Above Rubies"

The purpose of this blog is to bring women together, share with one another, and use scripture to teach all woman, including myself, what it means to be a woman that fears the Lord.

Proverbs 31:10-30
Who can find a virtous woman? for her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safelty trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar. She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. She considereth s field, and buyeth it; with fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengthenth her arms. She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night. She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. She is not afraid of snow for her household: for all her household is clothed with scarlet. She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple. Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land. She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant. Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

This is not easy to be, but with the Lord it is possible, we will explore what this means.

  1. God is good (Psalms 119:68; Psalms 136:1)
Regardless of what I *feel*, regardless of what I *think*,
God is good and everything He does is good.

God loves me and wants me to have His best (Romans 8:32, 38-39)
I can’t earn and don’t deserve His love.
Believe Him, receive Him, let Him transform my life
    He loves me PERFECTLY!
    Only His loves fulfills me!

I am complete and accepted in Christ (Eph 1:4-6)
I will be rejected by friends or family, but I am accepted by Him!

    God is enough (Psalm 23:1)
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
Since I have Him, I have everything I need for perfect peace and happiness.

God can be trusted (Isa 28:16)
He will never let me down.
    He keeps His promises.

God doesn’t make any mistakes (Isa 46:10)
God is always fulfilling His *eternal* purposes.
Nothing can touch my life that has not been first filtered through His fingers of love.
Satan has to get permission from God to touch me!

  2. These are truths from the book, "Lies Woman Believe" by Nancy Leigh De Moss

God’s grace is sufficient for me (2 Corin 12:9)
I will never face anything that exceeds His grace.
When I am weak, He is strong.
When I am empty, He is full.
When I have no resources of my own left, His resources have not begun to be depleted.

The blood of Christ is sufficient to cover all my sin (1 John 1:7)
Even sin I’ve committed or will commit will be forgiven and covered by His blood.
Knowing this lives me broken and humble in spirit, and I’m determined to chose obedience to Him by the power of His indwelling Holy Spirit.

The Cross of Christ is sufficient to conquer my sinful flesh (Romans 6:6-7)
I am not longer a slave to sin.
If I chose to sin, I’ve chosen to yield to my old master!

My past does not have to plaque me (1 Corin 6:9-11)
I am no longer what I was.
I am a new person who has been cleansed by the blood of Jesus.
I am set apart for His holy purposes.
I am declared righteous in the eyes of God

    God’s Word is sufficient to lead me, teach me, and heal me (Psalms 19:7 ;
    Psalms 107:20; Psalm 119:105)
His Word changes my life and delivers me from bondage
His Word reveals His will for my life.
His word is alive and powerful!
When I or the people around me are hurt or needy, they don’t need to hear my suggestions or opinion, but they need to know what You say, command, and promise.

  3. Truths (cont).. I meditate on these every minute I can!

Through the power of the His Holy Spirit, God will enable me to do anything He commands me to do (1 Thes 5:24; Phil 2:13)
    I can forgive anyone.
    I can love everyone.
I can give thanks in everything.
I can be content in every circumstance.
If I don’t do these things, it’s because I “refuse”, or “won’t” or am “unwilling”
I chose to obey and will depend on the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit to do so.

I am responsible before God for my behavior, responses, and choices (Eze 18:19-22)
I do not blame other people or circumstances for my sinful behaviors or negative patterns.
I take personal responsibility for MY choices, and I am NOT accountable for the actions of others, only how I respond to them.

I will reap whatever I sow (Gal 6:7-8)
My choices today will have consequences down the road for me and others.
I will not make selfish, sinful, or indulgent choices.
All my acts of obedience will plant a seed of blessing and harvest in my life and the lives of others.

The pathway to true joy is to relinquish control (Mat 16:25; Luke 1:38; 1 Peter 5:7)
I don’t have to control others or my environment.
God is in control, and I trust Him to manage everything.
I don’t try to take God’s job from Him.
He can’t work, if I am in the way.

The greatest freedom I can experience is found through submission to God-ordained authority (Eph 5:21)
When I resist authority, I have made myself vulnerable to Satan.
I submit to God-ordained authority, so I have His protective covering

In the will of God, there is no higher, holier calling than to be a wife and mother (Titus 2:4-5)
God created me to be a wife and mother.
God designed me to be a helper to my husband, to take care of the house, and
to train my children to be Christ followers.
Nothing provides more joy than being united with my husband in glorifying God
No hobby, career, or relationship is more important than my relationship with God, my husband, and children

Personal holiness is more important than temporal happiness (Eph 5:26-27)
God did not send His son Jesus to die on the cross so that I could live for myself on earth, but so that could be free to live for HIM.
This life is but a speck compared to eternity.

God is more concerned about changing me and glorifying Himself than about solving my problems (Romans 8:29)
God does not exist to solve my problems, and doesn’t have to cooperate with my agenda.
Everything that matters to me must be subordinate to what matters to Him.
My problems may be His means for molding me into the image of His son.

It is impossible to be godly without suffering (1 Peter 5:10)
I have to suffer to be conformed to His image (sanctification)
I need to embrace suffering and not run from it, or resent it.

My suffering will not last forever (2 Corin 4:17-18)
My emotions will led me to believe that trials will go on forever, but it won’t.
Any suffering I experience is purposeful and intentional because God is fullling His purposes in me.
One day there will be no more death, mourning, crying, or pain
I can ensure, give thanks, and know my faith will grow as a result

It’s not about me; it’s all about Him (Col 1:16-18)
The world was not created to revolve around me
I was created to revolve around Him who is high and lifted up, and seated on His throne.
My feelings, wants, and needs are pale into insignificance compared to his eternal purpose and plan for me.
My goal in life is not to be happy, accepted and loved, but to please and glorify Him.
I can embrace hard things in my life because they were designed by Him to conform me to the likeness of Jesus and bring glory to Himself.
If it pleases Him, it pleases me.
