1 Peter 3:1-6
Likewise, wives be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, when they see your respectful and pure conduct. Do not let your adorning be external-- the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear, but let you adorning be the hidden person of the heart with imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit. which in God's sight is very precious. For this is how holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their won husbands, as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. And you are her children, if you do good and do not fear anything that is frightening.
How opposite this is from how the world tells us to be toward our husband! Even in some "Christian" circles, we need to "help" our husbands by telling them the 'better' way to do something, or showing them the "smarter" ( or our way) to go about handling things.
Notice it says "without a word" they won their husbands by their conduct. A quiet, submissive, respectful wife that fears the Lord, speaks louder to a man than any amount of words can. When we step back, let our husbands lead they will learn to 'step forward' into the role God created for them. Ladies if we keep stepping in to rescue them from their mistakes (perceived or real) they will never learn to rely on God for leadership, we step in and take over, when that is God's place. Sure they might make a mistake or fall on their face, we are there to comfort them, love them and show them respect, they will cry out to God for guidance, and when a man is being lead by God, there is nothing better.
See how the "gentle and quiet spirit" is precious in God's sight. Even if our husbands don't notice, God does. He is the one we should desire to please by our conduct than anyone else.
Let us meditate on what this means and how we can apply this to our own lives. Can you imagine what would happen if Godly women actually lived like this and didn't look like the rest of the world?

Welcome to "A Price Above Rubies"
The purpose of this blog is to bring women together, share with one another, and use scripture to teach all woman, including myself, what it means to be a woman that fears the Lord.
Proverbs 31:10-30
Who can find a virtous woman? for her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safelty trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar. She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. She considereth s field, and buyeth it; with fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengthenth her arms. She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night. She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. She is not afraid of snow for her household: for all her household is clothed with scarlet. She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple. Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land. She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant. Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
This is not easy to be, but with the Lord it is possible, we will explore what this means.
